Hi, I'm Sarah and this site is years in the making. I have enjoyed music my entire life. My Mom started me on violin at age three and piano follow shortly after. When I was in High School I wrote my first song. I'll never forget the way the melody and the words just seemed to click into place. Since then songwriting has been a source of great joy. I don't often sit down and think, "I'll write a song today...." Rather, it is usually the outpouring of life experienced. From abundant joy to deepest sorrow, music has a way of bringing extra richness to my little world.
I have been really unsure about how to share, what to share, IF I should share, but I'm not getting any younger and I have a desire to share hope with an increasingly dark world. I have experienced some very difficult days and am not sure where I would be without my relationship with Jesus Christ. It's my hope that through the songs I share perhaps someone might be directed to Him and find encouragement.
So why the name Song Bird Sing? SB is not only my initials but that of my sweet boy, Silas. We only had him for nine hours on this Earth and yet he helped me to realize this life is breathtakingly short. I better make the most of every moment I'm given. I also love the passages in the Bible that talk about how God even cares about the sparrows...so why do we worry about life?
25“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?26Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?27Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?" -Matthew 6:25-27
And finally... I want this site to be a call to action. In my darkest days lifting my voice to Him has allowed me to soar above the worries of this world and refocus on the truth. Even when the world around us is crumbling, we can have hope. So, Song Bird SING!
"Encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord." Ephesians 5:19-20
